After a bounce-back season in 2023, Josh Brookes and BMW took a step back in the 2024 British Superbike Championship as the Australian went podiumless throughout the year.
In the 2023 British Superbike season Josh Brookes moved to the FHO Racing BMW squad and had a stellar year. The Australian won two races and stood on six further British Superbike podiums throughout the year. However, the 2024 season was not as good for Brookes.
The two-time British Superbike Champion did not stand on a single podium last season in his second year with the FHO Racing squad. But once again Brookes was a very consistent rider throughout the season.
Brookes may not have stood on a single podium in the 2024 British Superbike Championship but he featured inside the top ten in 21 races out of the 32 races in the season. The veteran Superbike rider also only missed out on points in four races in the 2024 Championship.
At the end of his 16th year in the British Superbike Championship Brookes was eighth in the Championship. The Australian scored 249 points and was the top BMW rider in the series.
The 2025 season will see Brookes move to a new team and a different manufacturer. The 41-year-old will ride for the DAO Racing squad on a Honda CBR1000RR-R.
