Danny Buchan has signed for the Motorpoint British Supersport Seton Yamaha team just a week after splitting from the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team in British Superbikes.
The lanky youngster tested with Seton Yamaha at Oulton Park with a view to replacing Graeme Gowland, who separated from the team after Brands Hatch because of an uncertainty about the team’s future.
Gowland is now looking for another seat and may move to another Supersport team, or to the Bathams Honda space left by Tommy Bridewell – now a second rider in the Halsall Racing outfit.
"Brands Hatch was a very strange weekend all round for a number of reasons. Phil (Seton, team owner) contacted me on Thursday and suggested coming to Oulton Park to ride the bike,” said Buchan.
“I’m really excited to jump on the 600 and get the enjoyment back and the smile on my face. I’ve worked alongside Phil back in ’07, so he knows how I work and we get along great. Also the test we did last week proved to be positive and I really enjoyed the team atmosphere. I’m looking forward to the first competitive outing at Oulton Park.”
