Buchan to ride through the pain at Assen

MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Danny Buchan is still suffering with the collarbone he fractured in a crash at Cadwell Park but will ride through the pain at this weekend's MCE British Superbike round at Assen.

The Essex rider has been undergoing physiotherapy on the offending bone and the discomfort has eased but it is still difficult when the shoulder is put through some ranges of movement. Buchan will also be without mentor Andrew 'no email' Pitt this weekend.

"My shoulder is still pretty painful through certain movements but I’ve been getting treatment from Brian Simpson to help improve this. I'm really excited about Assen, I've never been before so I've been doing loads of laps on the Xbox and spending at least an hour a day watching past races on YouTube," said Buchan.

"If we can minimise the little mistakes we had at Donington we’ll have two good rides and hopefully be back in the points. Andrew Pitt won’t be able to be there this weekend but he’ll be helping over the phone. This weekend will be tough but I love a challenge and I'm sure we'll all pull together and do a good job."
