Cadwell BSB: Bridewell bags front row start

Tyco BMW’s Tommy Bridewell will start on the front row for the opening MCE British Superbike race at Cadwell Park, after a last lap dash paid off and he was able to bag P3 after a 1’27.010.

The Devizes native has been lapping so close to the 1’26 barrier all weekend but narrowly missed out on the accolade that eventually fell to Milwaukee Yamaha’s Josh Brookes and Be Wiser Kawasaki’s Danny Buchan.

The pair have been on the pace all weekend and Bridewell knows that the double-header at the Lincolnshire circuit is not going to be easy on Sunday, as both Brookes and Buchan have upped their game this weekend and according to the rider the race pace has been ‘fierce’. Bridewell won at the track last year and is confident that he has the package on the S1000RR to challenge for a race win.

“We left it late but it is always nice to do it at the end of the session as it showed that the race pace is strong,” said Bridewell, at the circuit.

“If we can hang with them now I know it will be a hard race - if we can hang on with these two the pace is going to be fierce tomorrow and I reckon the big Beemer will be ready to go and we wont be too far away.

“The weather looks good and the crowd go ballistic and it is mega. I am looking forward to getting racing. It should be good and I am looking forward to having a good strong battle tomorrow and getting stuck in.”
