Airwaves Yamaha's Leon Camier has set the fastest time in the first British Superbike free practice session at Cadwell Park this morning with only Hydrex Honda's Stuart Easton able to keep him honest until the closing minutes.
The Kent youngster was a little under four-tenths of a second faster than Easton with four minutes to go but he then put in a storming lap to extend his lead to just under a second.
Easton came back at him in the closing minutes, lapping at 1'29.550 compared to Camier's 1'28.739 which was the only lap under the 1'29s barrier. Quay Garage Honda's Gary Mason was holding third place on a 1'29.871 until Confused.com Kawasaki's Simon Andrews' final lap deposed him to fourth and the outside of a theoretical front row.
Buildbase Kawasaki's Tristan Palmer was fifth quickest but 1.3s off the pace while Relentless Suzuki's Ian Lowry is sixth, returning Sylain Guintoli seventh and Palmer's team-mate John Laverty rounds out the second row.
