Airwaves Yamaha's Leon Camier once again proved untouchable in British Superbike qualifying at Cadwell Park but the final session provided a shock second-placed man in the shape of John Laverty.
The Buildbase Kawasaki man lapped more than half a second slower than Camier but it was enough to keep the Confused.com Kawasaki of Simon Andrews in third. Hydrex Honda's Stuart Easton grabbed the final front row position, seven-tenths off Camier's pace.
Relentless Suzuki's Ian Lowry heads off the second row, with Easton's team-mate Karl Harris sixth, Worx Suzuki's Sylvain Guintoli seventh and James Ellison in eighth, over a second in arrears. Andrews' French team-mate Julien Da Costa is at the top of the third row and has Motorpoint Yamaha's Chris Walker next to him.

Camier was the only man to get underneath the 1'28s barrier for the second time in qualifying but Ellison got closer to his team-mate, lapping within a tenth of a second.
Easton was again sniffing around the Airwaves Yamahas' heels, a little over two-tenths off Ellison's pace, while Andrews took his time once again to climb first into fifth place, and then to secure fourth with his final lap.
HM Plant Honda lost both of their riders, John McGuinness was just edged out and Karl Muggeridge crashed twice in the opening session. Quay Garage Honda's Gary Mason will start at the head of the Superbike Cup grid.

Easton was the only man to get anywhere near Camier in the first qualifying session. Camier set his quick lap with only seven minutes of the session gone and it took Easton until there were only ten minutes left to get within half a second.
Ellison, Lowry and Da Costa made it a scrap for third place in the early stages with the Kendal man coming out on top, putting in a quick lap right at the end to get within five one-thousandths of Easton.
Andrews slowly made his way up the leaderboard for sixth, a second off Camier's pace while Muggeridge crashed at Charlie's on his third lap, managed to get back out only to lob it again at Barn Corner with four minutes left. Motorpoint Yamaha's Graeme Gowland crashed at Mansfield and didn't make it out for second qualifying.
