Sabre Sport’s Luke Mossey’s confidence is higher than ever and by a mere 0.237s he misses out on another pole position in the eighth round of the Metzeler National Superstock 600cc championship this weekend at Cadwell Park.
Mossey who took pole and the win at the last round at Brands Hatch still hasn’t stopped grinning and is thoroughly enjoying the success of his first year on the four cylinder bikes after his racing career has involved a combination of 125cc and 250cc two strokes.
Mossey said: “We went testing for four days at the start of the year at Cartagena, I was fast, but didn’t expect it to go as good as it has been. At Brands there was a big pile up, but at Oulton the next round I was seventh. Then we went on to Thruxton and I just became more and more confident, the results just kept giving me confident boosts.”
“Originally I was going to do the Aprilia 250GPs for a full season that didn’t work out, but it’s turned out good for us. This is my first season on a 600cc, but it is also my first time at Cadwell, I qualified fifth yesterday and I really wasn’t happy with that, but we’re second today so that’s ok.”
Mossey started the season much stronger than predicted and has continued to improve and climb up the timing sheets all due to becoming more and more familiar with the machinery. He currently sits 32 points behind current championship leader Jamie Hamilton and has been an exciting contribution to the category.
Snetterton was damaging towards his title chase as a lot of points were lost due to clutch problems, but Mossey is hoping to pull some points back this weekend and hold off Hamilton who starts from the second row.
