Motorpoint Yamaha's Graeme Gowland crashed into the first part of this afternoon's British Superbike qualifying session after misjudging team-mate Chris Walker's early braking.
The former Spanish Supersport 600 Champion was following Walker down the hill into the left-hander at Mansfield but had to lay hi sbike down to avoid the back wheel of Stalker's YZF-R1.
"That was a real shame, we have had a great weekend up till then and I was really get my confidence on the bike, I knew I had to get into the groove early and pick the pace up but I mis-judged how quickly Chris braked for the downhill Mansfield corner, got too close to his back wheel and had to lay the bike down," said Gowland
"My toe took a slap and is a bit sore but I am sure I'll be OK for race day, sorry for my guys who will have a bit of work tonight."
