CADWELL BSB: HASLAM OUT TO STOP THE DUCATI ONSLAUGHT

Cadwell Park lap record holder Leon Haslam is desperate to continue his British Superbike winning ways this weekend – and to get HM Plant Honda a win on their home circuit.

Haslam, who took the second race win at Knockhill after Shane Byrne lobbed his Airwaves Ducati, will also be looking to extend his run of poles at the Lincolnshire track too.

“After the win last time out I’m looking forward to Cadwell. We’ve been making progress all year with the bike and while it’s got a way to go, I can ride it properly now and I’m confident to be able to ride it hard]," said Haslam.

"At Cadwell confidence is just what you need as it’s a technical track. I’ve won there every year recently, so that’s a good point. I’ve also got the lap record at the moment and I’ve been on pole every year – albeit on the Ducati – but I’m looking forward to seeing how the CBR1000R Fireblade goes around HM Plant Honda’s home circuit.”

HM Plant Honda have already tested at the track this year, so this should give them a small advantage over Byrne and the all-conquering 1200cc Ducati 1098R. However, Karl Harris and the Rob Mac Racing team have done the same, and Harris is seriously quick there, especially over the mountain.
