Samsung Honda’s Alex Lowes had the pace to dominate all three of the MCE British Superbike qualifying sessions to take a comfortable pole position for his home event at Cadwell Park tomorrow. But even though Lowes clocked a record breaking evo lap time around the Lincolnshire track of 1’26.708, he is still expecting the races to be ‘tough’, and vows to remain calm and not do anything stupid.
Lowes was penalised at the last round at Oulton Park after a move he made on Milwaukee Yamaha’s James Ellison that resulted in the Cumbrian rider crashing out. Now the 22-year-old plans to ‘use his head’ tomorrow.
“I really liked that qualifying and it is great to be at a home round too. I will get an early night and as both of the races tomorrow will be tough. The Showdown is still important but I need to stay calm and I am hoping that I have got the pace to win. I need to use my head and not do anything stupid, and I will give everything that I have got in the races tomorrow," said Lowes, speaking at the circuit.
