Cadwell BSB: Kent ‘on the back foot but making progress’

Cadwell Park will welcome Buildbase Suzuki’s Danny Kent for the first time as a Bennetts British Superbike rider this weekend.

As the bank holiday party kicks into gear for round seven of the 2022 championship, Kent will make only his second appearance at the Lincolnshire circuit, after competing on a stock machine as part of a three-hour endurance race last year.

“I’m going into this weekend with a very open mind and, honestly, no real expectations,” Kent admitted on the task ahead. “I’ve only been to Cadwell once before, and as everyone knows it’s a very unique, very specific circuit where track knowledge really does count for a lot.

“If I’m honest I’m not ever so excited about this weekend because it’s hard not to feel like I’m on the back foot, but that said we get some extra track time Friday before FP1 on Saturday. We’ve been making good progress in recent rounds, despite some bad luck, and I could also click with it straight away. Either way, we’ll do the best we can and have as good a weekend as possible.”
