Cadwell BSB: ‘Still a lot to work on’ for timesheet topper Lowes

Samsung Honda’s Alex Lowes stormed to the top of the MCE British Superbike free practice timesheets this afternoon at Cadwell Park, but the Lincolnshire lad is adamant that there is a still lot to work on.

This is the youngster’s home round and it appears that the rider is determined to bring home the victory on Monday. Lowes clocked the fastest lap  of 1’27.613 to go above Tyco Suzuki’s Josh Brookes this afternoon, and in the second session got the better of his team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari.

In the opening free practice session the Japanese rider was the quickest in wet conditions, with Lowes ending the morning in third. But with a dry track Lowes was able to improve on his lap time by nine seconds, and is enjoying his time at the circuit.

“For a first day I am happy enough with the way things are going. We stayed out on track on the same tyres all session working towards the race. There is still a lot to work on but overall I really enjoyed it and am feeling pretty good,” said Lowes, speaking at the circuit.
