Tyco Suzuki’s PJ Jacobsen surprised himself when he set the third quickest time in the MCE British Superbike second free practice at Cadwell Park this afternoon, and now the New Yorker is aiming for a top five finish this weekend.
Jacobsen was only 0.5 seconds off the pace of his team-mate, Josh Brookes and showed he had the speed to compete for a provisional front row. The rider was not fazed by the changeable weather conditions and felt comfortable on the bike on both the wet and dry track. Overall today has been successful for the twenty-year-old and he is keen to build on his good form through to the bank holiday.
“It was really good, I did not expect to be third today but I am happy with the progression that we have made. Even riding in the wet was good for me and the day was really productive," said Jacobsen, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the circuit.
"The more laps you do and the faster you go makes the track more enjoyable. If it is wet or dry it doesn’t matter as I am aiming for a top five.”
