CADWELL BSB: TOUGH WEEKEND FOR REPLI-CAST

Team Repli-Cast UK Racing moved onto the notorious Cadwell Park circuit in Lincolnshire for the August Bank Holiday weekend and free practise proved that this circuit demanded full commitment from all three riders and was going to be tough on the youngsters' stamina and fitness if we were going to repeat the results gained at Brands Hatch in the last round.

Qualifying one went fully to plan and all riders improved on their times with Robbie on row 2 in 4thplace, Adam on row 3 in 8t hplace and the ever increasing Kasey Wyatt gaining his best qualifying position of his season in 27th place.

The Team knew that the weather was going to change for the late afternoon qualifying 2 session so praised all 3 riders for theircommitment shown throughout qualifying 1  and as expected the wind grew stronger and within 2 laps of session 2 the heavens opened and clearly showed that the grid for race day was going to be down to the mornings Qualifying session.

Robbie showed his maturity and sat out the wet session but Adam and Kasey both needed wet track time and the Team changed both bikes to wet settings. Adam gained the session position of pole by over 4 seconds but unfortunately came to grief when entering the slippy, wooded section at Hall Bends. The Team worked well into the night to repair the badly damaged bike.

The race was the last race of the day on Bank Holiday Monday and all riders and teams were stunned when the Red Flag came out following a horrific crash by Edward Rendall and the re-run was declared an eight lap sprint.

Both Robbie and Adam hit the front and with Robbie in 4th and Adam in 7th overall and 3rd in the cup and battling with the cup championship leader it looked as though both riders were on for a podium when disaster struck for Robbie on the mountain as the bike lost the chain in a heavy jump as he pushed to take 3rd position. Adam pushed harder and fought his way past the championship leader on the last lap and finished 2nd in the Cup and 5th in the main race.

Kasey again showed the team the improvements needed to get him up to the front runners and worked hard in the race to take his best ever finish position of his season in 23RD place.

“We all knew this was going to be a tough event and to be honest I'm glad its out of the way and look forward to Croft. Adam now lies 2nd in the championship and for this we are grateful but we would all like to wish Edward Rendalla speedy recovery. We thank all our sponsors and look forward to seeing you all at the next round in two weeks time,” said team boss Gary Dawson.
