CROCKED FAGAN SPLITS WITH RED VIPER HONDA

British Superbike regular Alastair Fagan has been forced to split with the Red Viper Honda team because complications from the injuries he sustained at Knockhill are slowing down the recovery process – and the team are struggling to find funds to keep their season going.

Instead, the Fast Bikes magazine journalist will now help the JHS Racing squad develop a Triumph Daytona 675 for Aaron Walker to race in the final few British Supersport rounds. He is to ride at the New Era meeting this weekend at Castle Combe.

“I’m gutted really, but the results weren’t going our way and we needed a large cash injection to change that,” said Fagan. “The bike was pretty battered after the crash too. This meant there wasn’t enough money to go round and something had to give, and that something was me.

“Until I’ve had an operation on the shoulder, I can’t take the risk of returning to the British Championships. This meeting means a lot to JHS Racing, being a local event and the chance to showcase the company’s talent. My job is to help James Holland with his latest generation Triumph and make sure the wheels don’t fall off," he added, in between Lambert and Butlers.
