HM Plant Honda's Leon Haslam came out on top in this morning's British Superbikes third free practice session which was red-flagged early on when new boy Jason O'Halloran's SMT Honda blew up and coated the track in oil.
Haslam's team-mate Cal Crutchlow was second quickest with James Ellison on the Hydrex Honda bike in third but some 1.5 seconds adrift. Most riders didn't do a great many laps with neither of the Airwaves Ducati's making an appearance. Shane Byrne has been declared fit to ride after his crash yesterday.
Michael Rutter, Simon Andrews, Tom Sykes, Karl Harris, Stuart Easton and Billy McConnell did six laps or less in the session which was run in drizzling condtions.
