Aussie David Johnson has today split with the Maxxis Yamaha British Superbike team and will be replaced by Howie Mainwaring, who stood in for him at Cadwell Park, for the rest of the season.
Johnson hasn't had the best of seasons this year and a big crash at the Brands Hatch round ruled him out of Cadwell.
"Dave Johnson has formally been released from his contract after discussions earlier this week. We wish Dave all the best in his plans for the future and will endeavour to help in any way we can in his pursuit of another ride in the series," said team development director Julian Mosquera
"On behalf of the team, I would like to thank Dave for his contribution and the commitment he has shown throughout the 18 months he has been with us. Howie Mainwaring has been confirmed as our new team rider for the balance of the 2009 season.”
