CROFT BSB: LAVERTY WRAPS UP SUPERBIKE CUP TITLE

NW200 Buildbase Ducati's John Laverty secured the British Superbike Daily Star Cup title at Croft this afternoon, wrapping up the series with two rounds to go.

Laverty, who is still feeling the effects of his Knockhill crash, only had to finish in front of nearest rival Martin Jessopp to take the championship home, and settled for a pair of seconds beind Quay Honda's Gary Mason.

"I knew that I just had to ride two consistent and safe races, and bring the bike home in a good position," said Laverty. "I got two seconds and have taken the Championship for the Buildbase team which I'm over the moon about.

"I would like to thank, Brad, Neil, Dave and the rest of the Buildbase NW200 Team for all their help and support over the season and glad I've been able to reward them with the Championship. I can relax a little now going into Silverstone and Brands but hopefully I'll be able to finish the season on top of the box.

"Thanks again to everyone plus also thanks must go to the CJ Physios for all the help they have given me with my damaged knee, which has been giving me problems since I crashed at Knockhill."
