Team Co-Ordit Sam Lowes has been excluded from the results at Croft in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Cup Championship taking away a vital 25 championship points putting him back on 183 at the top of the leader board.
Lowes will also miss the next round at Silverstone due to him racing in World Supersport at Imola blowing the title chase wide open. Lowes, who has won six races and only been off the podium three times picked up another race at the weekend but due to an engine technicality he was later disqualified.
This is like Christmas to his two main rivals who both had a weekend to forget as they crashed out leaving the weekend with the same points they went with. If the result wasn't over turned Lowes would have walked away with maximum point.
Robbie Brown of AGB Transport/Packet Media sits in second on 170 points and Dean Hipwell of Atherton Godfrey Solicitors has 151. As the season draws to a close there is still 50 points up for grabs, 25 of which Lowes will not be challenging so the battle is on more than ever. The results obtained at Silverstone will be vital towards the grand finale battle at Oulton Park at the last round of the season.
