CROFT BSB: TEAM ORDERS ROB CAMIER OF DOUBLE PODIUM

Airwaves Ducati man Leon Camier was denied a double podium at Croft British Superbikes today after team orders meant he had to let Shane Byrne past in race two.

The Kent youngster stood on the top podium top step for only the second time this season, storming to a clear win in race one but was given a pit  signal on lap 17 of race two to allow champion-elect Byrne past to give him chance to wrap up the title. Which he didn't.

A very diplomatic Camier said: "The second race just didn’t go to plan after that; I got a much better start but struggled with grip and when I knew Shane was behind me I thought he would probably have a better chance of catching the front runners so I let him pass me.

" I had a pretty average start in race one but was feeling really good and confident with my overtaking. I knew I could win it and was pleased when I did eventually cross the line."
And he also went for a pee on live television. Good work, Leon, except you could have picked a different, red and white banner to have a slash on...
