Former British Superbike Evo competitor Josh Day has put pen to paper with the CN Racing squad and will ride a Ten Kate-prepared Honda CBR1000 in 2012's Metzeler National Superstock 1000 series.
Joining team-mates Taylor Knapp and Danny Buchan in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship, the 23-year-old from Cirencester brings to the team a proven track record at national level racing having won the Superstock 600 title in 2010 finishing just four points ahead of new team mate, Buchan – expect plenty of exciting on-track action from these two bright talents.
“Originally I hadn’t really looked at Superstock 1000 class as an option – my mind was set on finding a Supersport ride. But with the level of the class [Superstock] now easily on a par with Supersport and the offer of a ride coming from such a professional team along with such a great package from Ten Kate and Öhlins it seemed too good an opportunity to miss," said Day.
"I think the Honda will suit the way I ride and with a good pre-season testing programme in place, I see no reason why we shouldn’t be able to hit the ground running and be at the front of the pack from the off. I love Brands Hatch so I’m really looking forward to getting my 2012 season off to a solid start with CN Racing.”
