DONINGTON BSB: ANDREWS TARGETS PODIUM AFTER CAREER BEST RESULT

MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews reckons a podium finish in the British Superbike Championship this year is now a reality following his career-best finish of fourth at Donington Park on Monday.

The Evesham man battling for third place in both races and, after slipping off at Goddards in the first leg, got into a great scrap with HM Plant Honda's Glen Richards, eventually passing the Aussie for fourth at the last corner on the final lap.

"I was quick down through Craner and was able to keep it pinned out of the Old Hairpin and go past people on the brakes into McLeans. The bike is really strong on the brakes and turning-in so I was able to make some strong passes and even try going round the outside," said Andrews, talking to bikesportnews.com this morning.

"We have proved the bike works because Julien was with me for a lot of the second race nd I don't see why we can't look at podium finishes before too much longer. The guys are working really hard to put a good bike under both of us. The Kawasaki is quick so there's no reason we can't do well this weekend."
