Donington BSB: Corner entry proves problematic for Waters

Bennetts Suzuki’s Josh Waters was blighted by problems during the MCE British Superbike free practice sessions, and found corner entry a real issue at Donington Park today. With his team working hard to rectify the dilemma with his bike, it meant that Waters could only muster 19th and 23rd on the timesheets today.

Waters is confident that his crew have now sorted the issue, and will use the final practice session tomorrow morning to test out the machine and he sees it as a "fresh start". His aim now is for a good qualifying time in order to get the best of starts for race-day on Monday.

“We had problems in the first session – it was no ones fault it was just unlucky. The second session was like the first one, so we just worked through some stuff and hopefully we have got a good direction for tomorrow,” said Waters, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the track.

“I just wanted to get the corner entry a lot better – it's mainly just the running control and throttle connection as that is something that we need to fix, there are a couple of other little things that we need to change too.

“The second session highlighted the things we tried to fix. I hope we have solved the corner entry issues, and FP3 will be a fresh start for us. The team is great and I am really enjoying riding the Suzuki. It is meant to be better weather  tomorrow – double figures and you never know I could get heat stroke!”
