Mar-Train Yamaha's Stuart Easton stormed to his seventh Motorpoint British Supersport victory of the year and along with it an eight point championship lead after an injured Alastair Seeley could only manage eighth place.
Reigning champion Glen Richards took the holeshot from pole position but was quickly shuffled backwards, first by Stuart Easton and then by his team mate and fellow Australian Billy McConnell. The leading duo began to pick up where they left off yesterday, banging fairings as they battled for the lead. They were joined by Jason O'Halloran five laps into the race but he wasn't given much chance to fight for the lead with Easton posting a new lap record and consequently breaking away from the chasing pack.
The red flag was brought out with four laps remaining after a crash at Craner Curves, confirming Easton's victory. After a crash in the rain on Friday, reaggrevating a cracked rib injury from Cadwell Park, Gearlink Kawasaki's Alastair Seeley could only manage eighth place, which was compounded even further by Easton's win as he now leaves Donington Park as the championship leader by eight slender points.
Samsung Honda's O'Halloran claimed second place ahead of yesterday's race winner Billy McConnell with a move at the Old Hairpin securing the twenty points. Glen Richards took fourth place after piling pressure on Ben Wilson and the spud missile eventually cracking, crashing out at McLeans.
Tyco Suzuki's Taylor Mackenzie claimed his first middle-weight top five finish after battling past Appleyard Macadam Yamaha's Graeme Gowland. Scott Smart finished seventh ahead of championship contender Seeley, with Danny Buchan and Luke Stapleford rounding out the top ten.
