DONINGTON BSB: GREEN THRILLED WITH RESULTS

www.cgracing27.co.uk’s Catherine Green is more than pleased with her pace at Donington Park this weekend for the third round of the Relentless British 125GP Championship.
Green returns to the championship for the 2009 season and has already exceeded her own expectations and goals.  Her pace is reflective in her lap times this weekend on a track that she has only done twice, both in bad weather conditions.
With the novelty blue sky and dry track, Green has been able to see what she is capable of.  Even though Green crashed in yesterday’s second practice session, Green has put herself in 16th place following the first qualifying session this morning.  Even though she is a little disappointed with it, as long as she can get a good start and take a couple of laps to settle into a rhythm she could obtain a good result.
Green said: “The first practice session went really well, I wasn’t planning or expecting to do as well as I am.  It’s been much better, I was hoping to be in the late 46s, early 47s, I am in the 45s. I hope the weather holds off for Monday.”
“In the second session, I didn’t get my time up as high but there was a lot of traffic and I had a few moments trying to push the tyres on a much hotter track, I didn’t listen and low sided at Goddards, but all ok.”
Sitting eighth in the championship standings Green excitably said: “This year has been fantastic, I wanted to be consistently in the top 15, but I have had two top tens.  I am really happy and hopefully I can carry on scoring points and see where it goes.”
