Linxcel-Seton Yamaha's Hudson Kennaugh has taken an against-all-odds British Supersport pole position at Donington Park after massive crash at Craner this morning saw his YZF-R6 in three bits.
The South African, who narrowly missed out on a World Superbike ride at Kyalami with the Paul Bird Kawasaki outfit, snatched pole from pitlane crasher Dan Linfoot with his last lap.
TAG Triumph's Paul Young, who was fastest in the first qualifying session, took third place on the grid with MAP Raceways Yamaha rider Billy McConnell rounding out the front row.
James Westmoreland sits at the head of row two with Centurion Honda's Tom Grant in sixth, a little under a second off Kennaugh's pace with Dennis Hobbs and Craig Fitzpatrick in eighth. HM Plant Honda's Steve Plater is in an uncharacteristic ninth.
