Mark Bloom Racing’s Daniel Kneen hopes his Oulton Park success carries on to this weekend at the third round of the Metzeler National Superstock 600 championship at Donington Park.
The Braddan rider took pole position and the win at Oulton Park three weeks ago, even with the added challenge of lose handlebars that occurred in the race. Kneen said: “I had to just ride with it, coming out of the chicane they were moving slightly, but I just dealt with it and continued to win the race.
“Overall at Oulton Park the weekend went well, even when I crashed in the race day warm-up session I was still the fastest. Brands Hatch didn’t go as well, but so far so good.”
Kneen hasn’t been to Donington and in preparation he went for a bike ride around the track. Kneen was hoping to pick up the track quickly and looking at his results so far it is all coming together. In the practice session he finished ninth before moving up to eight in the afternoon's qualifying session.
Kneen is already known for his riding talent with his success in road racing in which he made Manx Grand Prix history. In 2008 he became the first man to win a Newcomers' Race and the Junior Manx Grand Prix in the same year.
