McAMS Yamaha’s Tarran Mackenzie is no stranger to Donington Park, and is hoping to the familiarity will prove fruitful in his Bennetts British Superbike challenge.
Living a matter of minutes from the Derby track, the Leicestershire-born rider has fond memories after securing victory in the final race last year and is optimistic of repeating the success.
“Donington is a special circuit to me, I only live down the road so it’s like a second home round after Knockhill” Mackenzie said.
“I’ve always enjoyed riding there, last year I had my best BSB weekend to date at the time, including a win in the third race which meant a lot to me.”
Running third in the championship after four rounds of competition, and securing second in race two at Thruxton a fortnight ago, the 26-year-old looks to be on a roll.
“The R1 is working incredibly this season,” Mackenzie continued.
“Donington is another track that suits the bike, so the goal has to be to bring home more silverware and build further on our podium points this weekend.”
