MCE British Superbike title hopeful Luke Mossey will run a special Mick Grant-inspired livery on his Quattro Plant Kawasaki for the final three Showdown championship rounds.
The one-off colourscheme takes inspiration from the famous green and white Kawasaki colours which adorned Grant’s Isle of Man TT-winning KR750 that clocked an amazing 112.77mph lap in 1977.
23-year-old Mossey will run the livery from this weekend at Donington Park onwards after securing his place in the title decider with a career-best second place finish in the final race at Oulton Park.
“I’ve always loved the paint schemes of the 1970s and 1980s, they’re so classic and memorable and the Kawasaki was particularly pretty. I grew up watching my dad’s videos of races involving legendary riders like Barry Sheene, Steve Parrish, Agostini and Mick Grant. I watched those guys for hours," said the youngster.
“I always loved Mick Grant’s bike and I can’t wait to meet him for the first time at the unveiling of the bike. He’s such a respected rider it’ll be an honour to meet him and talk about racing.”
