Milwaukee Yamaha team manager Mick Shanley has said his squad will treat the opening couple of MCE British Superbike round like extra testing as the new YZF-R1 is on a steep development curve in 2015.
The team are still waiting on a new fuel tank, swingarm and linkages to appear from Yamaha’s race HQ in Germany but Shanley is still confident of some good results from Josh Brookes and Broc Parkes at Donington Park.
"As a team we have discussed the first round quite a bit because we have to remember that this is a completely new bike for this season and we have a big development plan this season. The first few rounds are almost like extra testing for us and we have to patient,” said Shanley.
“The weather at the recent test at Donington Park made it more difficult, but we left there with a clear direction on what we needed to work on and achieve this weekend. We have a good focus and with Josh and Broc we have a strong line-up to move forward."
