Airwaves Yamaha team boss Colin Wright has taken delivery of new parts for the team's YZF-R1 racebikes and reckons that they should be about 98 per cent of the spec that Ben Spies and Tom Sykes are running in World Superbikes.
All of the new parts are now at the team's workshop and the new-spec engines are to be run on the dyno before being packed in the truck to make the short-journey to Donington Park on Friday.
Speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning, Wright said: "The bikes are 98 per cent there and will about the same spec that Spies and Sykes are running in World Superbikes. They will be on the dyno soon but I am not going to count my chickens just yet.
"We will have to wait and see what happens in first practice but it looks like it's going to be wet anyway, so be might be better off running the other engines anyway!"
