Donington BSB: Race weekend stats, facts and pub ammo

More trivia to tickle your taste buds ahead of Bennetts British Superbike’s penultimate round at Donington Park

Victory in the first race at Oulton Park moved Tarran Mackenzie on to a career total of nine BSB wins, the same as Tory Bayliss, Neil Hodgson and James Haydon.

Tommy Bridewell’s double victory at Oulton Park was the first time he’s taken two wins in a single BSB weekend. He now has seven wins in total, the same tally as Yukio Kagayama.

Bridewell now has 57 BSB podiums with three more moving him into the top ten all-time list.

Jason O’Halloran requires just two more podiums to move on to a career total of 50.

Christian Iddon took his 29th BSB podium last time out at Oulton Park, matching the total achieved by Stuart Easton.

Out of the nine rounds to take place so far in 2021, seven different riders have won races with 12 different riders having stood on the podium.

Since 1996, Donington Park has hosted 72 BSB races with those races seeing 25 different race winners and 45 different riders stand on the podium.

Only three riders in this weekend’s entry have previously won BSB races on the Donington Park GP circuit – Josh Brookes (3), Tarran Mackenzie (1) and Andrew Irwin.

Andrew Irwin’s last BSB win was on the Donington Park GP circuit last October.

Out of this year’s eight Showdown contenders, only Peter Hickman and Danny Buchan have yet to stand on a BSB podium at Donington Park.

Shane Byrne has won more BSB races (8) at Donington than any other rider and is followed by Niall Mackenzie and John Reynolds (both 6), Scott Redding (5) and Chris Walker, Michael Rutter, Ryuichi Kiyonari and Leon Haslam (all 4).

Bradley Ray took his first and only BSB victories at Donington Park in 2018 when he took a double race victory on the GP circuit.

John Reynolds and Shane Byrne have taken the most podiums (16) at Donington followed by Leon Haslam (12), Josh Brookes (11), Chris Walker (10), Niall Mackenzie and Steve Hislop (both 9) and Michael Rutter, James Haydon, Ryuichi Kiyonari and Tommy Bridewell (all 8).

Gino Rea had his best ever BSB meeting on the Donington Park GP circuit last year, taking a best finish of fourth and scoring a total of 35 points across the three races.

Bradley Ray made his BSB debut on the Donington Park GP circuit in 2017.

Tarran Mackenzie and Gino Rea both made their BSB debuts on the Donington Park GP circuit in 2018.

Ducati is the most successful manufacturer at Donington Park with 33 wins followed by Yamaha (11), Suzuki and Honda (both 8), Kawasaki (7) and BMW (2).

Ducati last won at Donington Park in August 2021 with Tommy Bridewell.

Tarran Mackenzie gave Yamaha their last victory at Donington Park, also in August 2021.

Honda’s last victory at Donington Park came with Andrew Irwin in October 2020.

Suzuki last won at Donington in 2018 with Bradley Ray.

Kawasaki last won at Donington in 2017 with Leon Haslam.

BMW were last victorious at Donington in 2014 when Ryuichi Kiyonari won both races. These are the German manufacturer’s only BSB wins at the circuit.
