James Ellison will stay with the GBmoto Kawasaki team for next year’s MCE British Superbike Championship after signing a new deal with team boss Mark Smith-Halvorsen.
The Kendal man is delighted to get another season on the ZX-10R as he will have almost a year’s worth of data to take into 2015, making him a serious contender for the title. Already the series is shaping up to be another belter with Ryuichi Kiyonari and Josh Brookes already signed up.
“I’m so pleased to have signed with Mark for another year. It makes the world of difference going into the winter knowing that you are all sorted and that we will be on a race-winning package in 2015 as we have already shown that this year,” said Ellison, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“Nothing will change into next year, which is perfect for me. It’s the same team, same bike with a few improvements here and there, same setup and that sort of consistency is crucial. Everyone will raise their game next year, as they always do, but we are in a great position.
“Early this year we proved how competitive we were on a new bike with no data, so the information taken over into next year should stand us in great stead to challenge for the title once again.”
