While Peter Hickman and Josh Brookes endured a tough return to British Superbike Championship [BSB] action at Knockhill over the weekend, the same couldn’t be said for Dean Harrison as he cracked the top ten for only the third time in his career.

The Cumbrian rider is in the midst of an upswing in form following his run to six podiums and personal best laps on the Isle of Man TT, peaking with a superb second place in the Senior TT.

However, he is also seeing an improvement in results on the DAO Kawasaki ZX-10RR in BSB having now cracked the points on more occasions in just four rounds this season than he managed during the entirety of 2022.

Having only previously entered the top ten once since his BSB debut in 2017 - an eighth place at Donington Park in 2021 - he achieved his second tenth place result at Knockhill over the weekend. In the ten races he has started this season, Harrison has scored in six of them.

"I’ve had a really good weekend to be fair. We got stuck in straight away and went half a second quicker than we’ve ever been around here.

“With the weather being so warm, it was very greasy and it was easy to fall off so a bit of the time I was just trying to stay out of trouble and keep my nose clean.

“I’m making time later in the races which is what you need to do because when you’re at British championship level, the races are so long it’s no good being fast for five laps, you need to be fast for 30 laps.

“Right now my fitness is good, I feel good in myself to be honest and the bike's good, the team’s good and now I want to keep this going.

“We’ve now had two top tens this year already and I want to be further up the field, I want to be the best we can.”
