Fourth for Brookes in British Superkart debut

MCE British Superbike series leader Josh Brookes turned his hand to the British Superkart Championship last weekend at Brands Hatch and came away with fourth place overall on his debut in the sport.

Brookes was guest driver for the Parker Motorsport team alongside regulars Jack Layton and Josh Rayman, and after settling in to the new sport quickly, bagged 11th place in race one in the 250cc machine.

The Milwaukee Yamaha man then upped his game to take 12th and sixth in the next two outings to claim fourth place overall with team spokesman Stuart Parker well impressed with his pace.

“I found the kart a little strange to drive at first and took some time to get used to it. With the alterations made by the team I could really feel and understand the changes, but each time I had to adapt and adjust myself to suit the kart, due to my lack of time in the seat. I am really pleased with the end result finishing fourth overall on the day in a British Championship round,” said Brookes.
