Glenn Irwin is heading to Brands Hatch with a point to prove after finishing second best to his team-mate last time out at Snetterton.
Glenn Irwin only managed to stand on the podium once last time out in Norfolk as he finished second place in the final race of the weekend. However, in the other two races Irwin could only manage fourth place finishes, which allowed team-mate, Tommy Bridewell, to extend his Championship lead.
Last October Irwin won two races at Brands Hatch and has an impressive record around the iconic circuit. Irwin will want to increase his winning record around Brands Hatch and will want to add to his four race wins so far this season throughout this weekend.
Going into the sixth round of the season Irwin is second in the British Superbike Championship. However, he is 25 points off the top of the Championship and is 21 points ahead of third place rider, Josh Brookes.
“I have no particular favourites when it comes to tracks but Brands Hatch is one I always look forward to," said Glenn Irwin. "And it’s where the title will be decided later in the year.
"We have done some reflecting after Snetterton and after four great rounds, I suppose the results there didn’t match my potential, but I have learned, and we move forward. I have been strong in the early rounds so I need to bring that mindset to Brands Hatch. We’ll get cracked on early and work on the areas we need to and continue with our game plan which has worked well so far this season.
"We have a wonderful feeling in the team and it’s now time to bounce back with some race victories this weekend.”
