JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s James Ellison will return to MCE British Superbike action at Oulton Park this weekend after breaking his wrist at Thruxton and missing the previous Cadwell round.
Ellison’s goal is to stay in the Showdown six even though he isn’t yet 100 per cent fit but some strong points should see him stay in front of rivals as the Kendal native has a 42-point buffer over Dan Linfoot in seventh with 75 points on the table over three races in Cheshire.
“I’m still not 100% perfect, but the cast is off and it’s a lot better than it was at Cadwell Park – although it does still feel like it’s mending! The goal this weekend is to stay in the Showdown, which I think we can do if we can get three strong rides under our belt,” said Ellison.
“Having the data from May should make things a little easier, as hopefully we can focus on getting a race pace set-up. Oulton is a great circuit and one I really enjoy, and although we didn’t have a great race one compared to our standards last time, the guys were able to turn it around for the second race and we were only a few tenths off the win. We might not be able challenge the very front guys until I’m fully fit, but I’m confident we’ll have the pace to be towards the front.”
