Harley-Davidson's XR1200 Trophy British Superbike support class has undergone a revamp for this season and the deal with BSB bosses will now be for two years.
Because the development of race kits has taken longer than first thought, the 2009 series will now serve as a development season with Harley running a selection of bikes and riders at each round.
There will also be a World Cup race at the Silverstone round on September 27 where riders from other European XR1200 race series will be invited to compete against an all-star British team to complete our testing programme in style.
BSB race director Stuart Higgs said: "We're pleased to be able to extend our agreement with Harley-Davidson for a further year, given it is a global brand, and it is good news all round considering the current economic climate."
