Could GR Motorsport's future have been announced by their former rider?
The GR Motorsport Team had not released an announcement about their 2025 British Superbike rider lineup. Due to the lack of new rumours began to spread about the future of GR Motorsport in the British Superbike Championship.
However, could a post from a British Superbike rider have announced the team's future?
In 2024 the team had Storm Stacey on their LKQ Euro Car Parts Kawasaki. Throughout the year the team also had Tom Neave, Eemeli Lahti, Luke Mossey and Bradley Perie on their STAUFF Fluid Power Kawasaki.
Perie joined the GR Motorsport squad for the final four rounds of the 2024 season. Earlier on in the year, he had ridden for Gearlink Kawasaki in the British Supersport series.
The 25-year-old took to social media on the 11th of December and stated:
"Apparently I have “the kiss of death” with the past 4 teams I’ve raced for all leaving the British superbikes championship that season. I’m in the market for a stable home please."
The post was later edited and "*(GR's plans tbc regarding WWC)" was added.
Across the last few seasons, Perie has found himself searching for a new ride far too often. For the 2022 British Supersport season Perie rode for the Appleyard Macadam Racing squad, who left the series after the season. Before becoming Macadam Racing for the 2023 British Supersport season.
In 2023 Perie became a British Superbike rider for the Lee Hardy Racing Kawasaki squad. However, Perie once again only had one year with the team before they left the Championship after the season.
For 2024 Perie joined the Gearlink Kawasaki squad, but he only rode for them for three rounds. The team later shut down at the end of the season after the rider and team parted ways.
In his post on social media, Perie referenced the Appleyard Macadam Racing Team, Lee Hardy Racing Kawasaki and Gearlink Kawasaki. However, he also referenced the GR Motorsport squad that he rode for at the end of the 2024 season.
The GR Motorsport Team could be leaving British Superbikes and may not be on the grid in 2025. This would mean there would only be two Kawasaki's on the 2025 grid with the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki squad.
