HASTINGS RETURNS TO KRP FOR BRITISH 125GP SERIES

Team Twister is delighted to announce that 16 year old Falkirk rider Tim Hastings will once again be riding a Honda for the Keen Race Preparation (KRP) 125GP race team in the 2009 British 125GP Championship.

After a successful debut in 2007, a superbly consistent 2008 season saw Tim take the ACU Academy Cup with ten podiums from the twelve races, while his runner up position in the overall Championship included five podiums and a dominant first race win at Croft.

"I'm really pleased to be staying with KRP for 2009, they are a top team with top bikes and I now have a year's worth of data to work from. Mark, (Keen) has been working hard on the KRP bikes over the winter, so I am confident my bike will be even better than it was last year," said Hastings.

"All my team mates from last year are staying so the KRP rider line up will be really strong. Last year I surprised myself to be running right up the front and made far too many mistakes but I was still able to challenge for the championship title at the final round at Brands Indy.

"For 2009 I want to win lots of races and break lap records! I have a great team and a great bike, anything else will be a dissapointment. I know it wont be easy because the quality of the rest of the guys is very good.

"The first round is at the Indy circuit and I should have won there last year, I intend to put that right this April. I can't wait."

Having now accumulated significant race experience (and with only two DNFs in two entire race seasons), Tim will once again be challenging for top honours in both the Cup and the Championship series this season.

Tim's first opportunity to take to the track on the KRP bike this year will be a week of testing in Spain in mid-March which will include the first round of the Catalan Championship at Barcelona.

Tim will then be back in action in the UK at the first round of the 2009 British 125GP series at Brands Hatch on the 10th-13th of April.
