Former MCE British Superbike Champion Tommy Hill is hoping to announce his 2015 rider line-up just after the Brands Hatch round but won’t give away who he is talking to, except to say he wants one experienced campaigner and a youngster who he can nurture.
Both Chris Walker and Danny Buchan have been linked heavily with the new squad in which Hill will have a senior management role when they move up from Pirelli National Superstock into the blue riband class next season.
“I think riders will start to fall into place now but I’m hoping in the next week or two weeks we can finalise it, announce it and then move on,” said Hill, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Silverstone.
“I want a young rider, there is no reason why both can’t be capable of podiums but I would like a rider with a bit of experience, a rider with some talent - whether it is on the track or off the track, I want to help them as well, whether it is managing their sponsors a bit better or the design side – helping them with media packs to send to new sponsors, trying to attract people to help their weekends run a bit smoother.”
