Worx Suzuki's replacement rider Tommy Hill has said he was amazed by the power of the GSX-R1000 he will be riding in the next round of the British Superbike Championship after a shakedown test yesterday.
Hill did around 40 laps of Mallory Park yesterday to familiarise himself with the bike and to re-acquaint himself with racing a Superbike after such a long lay off.
"I was really surprised by how powerful the Suzuki is. The last time I rode was at the Kyalami World Superbike round where the bikes are down on power because of the altitude, but it still quick," said Hill, talking to bikesportnews.com this afternoon.
"The test was really just to get comfortable on the bike and put the bars and pegs in position. We still have work to do on that and I have to get used to the electronics but it felt good.
"I have kept fit and I am ready now to get down to it and get some points from the team. I am going out there to do a good job. It was nice to get feedback from the team at the track, and from Jack earlier on today. I haven't had much of that recently."
