HOBBS SIGNS FOR AIM YAMAHA IN BRITISH SUPERSPORT

Fan favourite Dennis Hobbs has parted company with the Centurion Honda team and will join AIM Yamaha for the 2009 British Supersport Championship.

Hobbs, who spent most of 2008 on the sidelines with a badly-damaged shoulder after a crash early in the season, will step into the boots of the departed Steve Plater.

"I'm delighted to have joined Alistair Flanagan's team for 2009. He has given me the perfect opportunity to win the 2009 British Supersport Championship, I can't wait to get back on the bike and back to business," said Hobbs.

"In 2007 I just missed out on the title, and in 2008 I had a bad accident which left me needing a nerve transplant. My shoulder is recovering well and I've been training hard to get back to fitness, ready for this season.

"I had been in talks with my former team, Centurion Racing, about riding for them again this year, however we have both decided to go our own separate ways for 2009. I would like to thank them all for the support they gave me after my accident last year.

"The Yamaha will be a new bike for me to learn this year, I know this is a winning package as Steve Plater proved for the team in 2008, I've proved I can win races at this level and the championship is only thing we need now."
