Honda's first pre-season test at Snetterton yesterday was wiped out by rain and high wind so both the official team and the two-man Padgett's squad will go to Cadwell Park on Thursday in order to try and turn in some laps.
Honda Racing's pair of Michael Laverty and Jon Kirkham were joined by Ian Lowry and Luca Scassa, who flew in from Ireland and Italy respectively, to do their first laps on the 2012 Fireblades but spent the day trying to get warm and stay dry instead.
"It was wet and we had very high gusts of wind so we really couldn't get very much done. We had planned for this and the test at Cadwell to be very much a shakedown, to get the bikes and the riders married up as we haven't turned a wheel yet this year," said Honda UK team boss Havier Beltran, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"The day before they had had about two months' worth of rain so we had wanted to try and get some data under our belts. We will go to Cadwell with the same thing in mind before trying again at Snetterton before the official test at Brands later in the month."
