Hopkins linked with Tyco Suzuki British Superbike seat

Former MCE British Superbike star John Hopkins has been strongly linked to a ride in the Tyco Suzuki camp next season and comments by team manager Philip Neil at Brands Hatch Sunday did nothing to dispel them.

Rumours that both Josh Brookes and PJ Jacobsen riders would leave the team at the end of the year were rife and Jacobsen is testing a Mahi Kawasaki World Supersport bike at Jerez today. (Click here)

"Next year is still very much up in the air, it is very possible that we will have a new line up for the team next year, we are just not 100 percent sure yet,” said Neill, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“The riders have had talks with other teams and we have had some talks with other riders and we have got some exciting ideas about what we like to do. We will get together over the next couple of days and come up with the right conclusions.”

American Hopkins is said to be keen to get back into competition after taking a year out to get his myriad injuries sorted out. He comes with Monster Energy backing and would be ripe for title sponsors Tyco Securities, who are based in New Jersey.
