Samsung Suzuki's John Hopkins will likely miss the upcoming Cadwell Park British Superbike round after surgery on the fingers he broke in a crash at Brno revealed the damage is much worse than expected and it means he will miss out on three races' worth of vital podium credits as it is a triple-header in Lincolnshire.
Hopkins slid off in the wet at the Czech track after losing the front in a crash that mirrored that of former world champion Casey Stoner only a few minutes earlier. He went under the knife in California yesterday and has Tweeted he should be back on a bike at Donington Park.
"Today's surgery went very well but the injury itself was much worse than what we originally expected. Exact recovery time and when I will be back on the bike is yet to be determined but I can say I will be 100% or close to by Donington Park," he Tweeted this morning.
