Danny Kent has enjoyed a fruitful first outing on the McAMS by Mar-Train Yamaha R1 following four days of testing at the Almeria Circuit in Spain.

Having been forced to curtail his 2023 BSB campaign aboard the privateer Honda CBR1000RR-R he raced under his own Lovell Kent Racing banner, this was Kent’s first opportunity since August to get back out on BSB machinery.

Teaming up with Mar-Train Racing, which stepped up to BSB from British Supersport this season with Jack Kennedy, Kent tried the R1 for size in Almeria and duly proclaimed himself happy with his first outing.

“It has been a great four days, I’ve absolutely loved riding the McAMS Yamaha,” the 2015 Moto3 World Championship said.

“I’ve spent four days with the team, building a relationship with them and I think it has been a very successful test, lots of laughs.

“I am really starting to gel with the Yamaha, I feel like it is my bike now, overall a very good test, very happy. We’ve really benefited from doing this.”

Despite only contesting seven events before being forced to call time on his season, Kent notched up two podiums - both at Brands Hatch - en route to 14th in the final BSB standings.
