Buildbase BMW’s Ryuichi Kiyonari will return to MCE British Superbike action at Silverstone this weekend following an enforced injury absence at Assen and is out to prove he is still fast and can cut it at the front of the pack.
The Japanese three-time champion didn’t travel to Holland after damaging his shoulder in a flar-track crash but is fighting fit now and is aiming to put it among the Showdown contenders in Northamptonshire. Kiyo took a race win at Silverstone last year but knows replicating that could be tough.
“I cannot wait to get back out on my bike this weekend. I really like Silverstone, last year fighting with Shakey was so much fun. I hope we can have another race like that but it will be hard as we have had a difficult season. I want to show I am still fast and that I can still win,” said Kiyonari.
