Padgett's Honda new signing Ian Lowry is so confident the 2012-spec Fireblade is the best Superbike he has ever ridden, he reckons that if the British Superbike Championship started tomorrow, he would be able to race in it.
The Moira youngster, who completed a shakedown test at Cadwell Park yesterday with team-mate Luca Scassa is over the moon with the 'awesome' nature of the bike and the way team boss Clive Padgett has built the engines.
"It's an awesome bike and the best one I've ever ridden. I'd like to race it now if I could. We had a good outing at Cadwell, got comfortable on the bike and it's an easy thing to ride. The track temperature wasn't high but I didn't have much in the way of a slide the whole time so I don't think not having traction control is going to be too much of a problem," said Lowry, speaking to bikesportnews.com this afternoon.
"I'm pretty certain we will be able to be fast from the off on this and we've got another few days of testing to get more of the finer points dialled into it. I'm pretty confident this is going to be a bike to beat, so I'm happy."
