The 2024 British Superbike Championship entry list has been revealed with one surprise late addition in the form of the IN Competition team, which will enter its Aprilia RSV4 for Lewis Rollo.
The team has been a regular competitor in the National Superstock Championship in recent years, notching up a number of strong overall results with its Aprilia package via the likes of Rollo, Tom Ward and Fraser Rogers.
This year, however, will see IN Competition SENCAT make the full-time move into BSB for 2024 under the new ‘Pathway’ regulations designed to ease the transition from Superstock to Superbike-spec machinery.
The team has already taken advantage of these regulations with a guest outing for Rogers on the RSV4 during the 2023 BSB finale at Brands Hatch.
Though not formally announced by either the team or BSB on its website, the team is featured on the 28-strong entry list published by MSVR on social media.
It will be Rollo - who scored a sixth place finish overall with IN Competition in SSTK last year - who will get to ride the RSV4 in BSB this season for what will be his maiden season in the top domestic class.
Significantly, the entry means BSB will return to having six manufacturers represented following the exit of Suzuki at the end of the 2022 season.
It will also be the first time the Aprilia RSV4 - which because of its 1099cc engine can’t be raced at WorldSBK level - will be represented in BSB since 2012 when the shortlived Splitlath Racing team completed its final campaign after three years in the series.
